When I was looking again in 2020, I’d been a developer for 7.5 years but I didn’t feel like a senior. I had learned a hell of a lot from company #3, but senior sounded scary. Despite that, I was immediately pegged as a senior due to my years of experience so I kinda had to just go for it. I had to sit a maths test as well for another where the time was really tight, even going in I tried to answer the questions with some haste, but I’d only gave an answer for 75% of them. The job I eventually accepted had the easiest interview and take home test, I was already heavily burned out by this point and was surprised to get the job as well as a much higher salary than what I was on and what I was negotiating for.
