Her BF probably picked OP as his girlfriend because: 1) she’s a nice person; 2) he thinks he can manipulate her into joining the Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of The Sith Darth Vader Shirt Apart from…,I will love this cult; 3) she has work skills or financial assets that could be useful to the cult. I’m French and in France, Scientology is classified as a dangerous cult, not recognized as a religion and regularly condemned (e.g., for corruption and incitement to suicide). However, they’ve registered as a non-profit and still manage to have followers and grow in France. Even if you don’t like and think they the people practicing it are overly controlling, there’s a massive difference between your local church with an optional (but socially obligated) tithe to pay their pastor and building costs… …and a literal cult movement that can actually make people disappear forever in a compound somewhere and that’s just accepted as how things are.

Or you could tell him you’re a SP and that L Ron was the Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of The Sith Darth Vader Shirt Apart from…,I will love this greatest fiction writer of all time who then created a cult religion. I’m pretty sure he’ll “disconnect” from you pretty quickly. You’d better do that now even if it’s a “joke” to see what will happen. You’ll see that your relationship is nothing compared to his religion. If he “disconnects” 10 years later if you ever question the “teachings”, it’s probably going to be 10 times harder with kids. I’d honestly run the hell out of there. As much love as I could have I won’t hesitate to ditch someone, sorry not sorry. That’s what enduring abuse as a kid does to a mf, yeah we are friends now, but I more or less know how people can be, so the moment you’re a threat you won’t see me again. I dunno, man. I once found out a woman I was seeing was a raging bigot and I still stayed with her for a few more months because of the toe-curlingly great sex. I hope OP has a stronger will than I did.
