Hey I’m gonna take the Spongebob cosplay horror characters halloween friends shirt Additionally,I will love this opposite route of everyone in this thread: lean into what he’s talking about. Assure everyone that he’s correct, your job is so easy and you made the smarter career decision. Even if it’s not true make sure you emphasize that you barely work during the day and get to enjoy the finer things in life while he’s working like a dog at his super hard job. Yikes. He sounds insecure. I’d stop talking about work with him. If he wasn’t your brother I’d also cut him off Sounds like your brother has a massive case of sibliing rivalry. The best way to handle it is to tell him he’s right and you are unworthy. To take him seriously would only be self defeating. If you are female you could also let him know that he is the strongest, smartest and generally just the best boy in the girls school yard. Start calling him ‘best boy’ every time in response to his tirades. At the very least you can get a laugh at his expense. At least you’re helping build business capabilities, he’s essentially just the helper for development. Like a sys-admin that automated a few things. No biggie. They’d call him an infrastructure engineer if his work had any real consequence.

Talk to him how his comments are hurting you, he might just be joking and is just trying to throw jabs for fun. But yeah if he keeps up after that it’s not a good sign, and you should cut ties sorry, so ‘devops’ is not really a job title. What does your brother actually do? is he an SRE? or more on the Spongebob cosplay horror characters halloween friends shirt Additionally,I will love this SDE side ? Your brother is an asshole with no prospect of getting better. He’s in his 30 and acting like a insecure, petulant child. This is not a man but a deeply insecure child. Next time, shrug and casually say ‘k!’ And act like it does not bother you at all. Do not engage. Be the greyist grey rock 🪨 ( if you do not know what this is, google grey rock technique ) Your brother’s a shithead, plain and simple. Honestly this post belongs on a mental health or boundaries or therapy focused subreddit instead.
