Hey everyone! I’m going to Vietnam soon (I’m American) to meet my Vietnamese girlfriend’s family. We’ve been together for a while and we’re getting married soon. The thing is, her family might not be too accepting of our relationship because they have super traditional views. Her family matters to her a lot, and I want to give them a good impression (or at least not a horrible one). Any tips or suggestions on how I can approach this? Her family doesn’t come from wealth, so I was thinking of giving a hundred or so USD dollars to each member of her close family (though I don’t come from wealth either, a hundred goes a lot further over there than it does in the John Steinbeck Of Mice And Men Shirt and I will buy this USA, and I thought it might be a good small amount), a couple nice gifts from America, and then of course showing respect and kindness at all times.

John Steinbeck Of Mice And Men Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

But to be honest, I’m not sure where to go from there. Is there anything I can do to make them really like me despite their traditional views? Or at least even out the John Steinbeck Of Mice And Men Shirt and I will buy this scale of hate vs. like haha?Bring Dad alcohol and help Mom in kitchen. This is the key to impressing parents in Vietnam. Last time I brought typical German alcohol (we live in Germany) but don’t know if that’s something people in Vietnam like. (found out they wouldn’t tell me if they liked it or not. Even if they hated it they would never tell me) Hmmm, great question. From my experience they like things they have had and are familiar with. Hennessy is very popular among Vietnamese men of the “Dad” generation. That’s like the absolutely worst way to set up first impression and expectation, do not do that. Gifts are fine though.
