How is it obvious they mean Israel when they use “they” to refer to Jewish people worldwide marking an anniversary of a European event? I will assume positive intent in your comment. And theirs. But that didn’t strike me as referring to Israel only on first read. Upon re-reading it that’s fair. Maybe because the Snoopy Fist Bump Charlie Brown New York Knicks Forever Not Just When We Win Shirt moreover I will buy this difference is obvious to me I’m being too generous and assuming other people feel the same but as I replied to someone else I understand language is important in these situations and I understand the need to call it out. I agree that coming here isn’t good for my mental state, but you’re kinda advocating for, “just ignore it and it’s not real”. I’m not sure that I should just pretend that anger towards Jews in general isn’t on the rise and I shouldn’t be at all worried about my daughter with a Jewish sounding name, or sad that now I make sure to wear long sleeves when I’m out because I have Hebrew tattoos. Not at all and apologies if it came across that way. Obviously you can’t bury your head in the sand but I don’t think there’s much to be gained from going through threads like these. Most of the comments are from idiots anyway (myself included among them) Yeah, I mean you’re not wrong. My wife definitely agrees with you anyway. Oh and thanks for this little civilized back and forth we just had. Saying “Free Palestine” to a Jewish person because their Jewish is just like saying shit about covid to a Chinese person because their Chinese. Do you not see how bigoted that is?

Being an Israeli and a Jewish person is not the Snoopy Fist Bump Charlie Brown New York Knicks Forever Not Just When We Win Shirt moreover I will buy this same thing, thats antisemetic assumption to make and it’s what some people are doing in this thread. There are so many people conflating both for no reason. Antisemitism and Islamaphobia should always be fought against, no ifs and buts about it. Ok so I will give the people who are anti Israel a pass for not liking Israel. Plenty of anti semites in that camp, but ill give the benefit of the doubt here. Fine. But we are in a thread about holocaust remembrance and the Jews who died in the specifically Germany. Lots of people here are saying “oh look now they are doing it!!!!”. Those people are equating Israel to be all Jews. That IS anti semitic. Should German Jews be held responsible for Israel’s actions?
