I’m fascinated by the Snoopy Fist Bump Charlie Brown Brooklyn Nets Forever Not Just When We Win Shirt also I will do this mental gymnastics required to justify bombing one of the most densely populated places in the world, full of civilians and especially children, who have no way to escape. There’s been a rise in antisemitism, and Germany is standing up against it, given their past. I wish YOU understood that. For some reason you think they’re picking a side. The killing of Palestinians is tragic, as was the massacre of Israel civilians. They’re not mutually exclusive, they’re showing support for a country that just had a terrorist attack over 30 times the magnitude of 9/11 relatively to population. It’s quite obvious that by ‘they’ he meant Israel, not all Jewish people. How is there no ‘they’? ‘They’ is how you refer to a group of people. You’ve gone out of your way to be offended by something. (See how when I said ‘you” I was referring to you in particular and not all Jewish people) Edit: my comment probably came off a bit harsh. I’m sure this is a tense time for Jewish people and I’m sorry if you or your family have suffered verbal abuse. But you’re making things unnecessarily harder for your mental state by going into threads like this and acting like everyone is out to get you.

Doesn’t seem obvious when he’s saying it in response to a memorial in Europe about an event that had nothing to do with Israel, during a time of rising anti-semitism in Europe (precisely because people are having trouble separating all Jews from the Snoopy Fist Bump Charlie Brown Brooklyn Nets Forever Not Just When We Win Shirt also I will do this “they”) Yeah people in here with the all lives matter bullshit. I’m quite liberal, but it really does seem like people just check a box about oppression and suddenly the oppressors can do no right It’s obvious to some, but not all. And we still have enough nazis (or rather more every day) that will happily use “them” as a dogwhistle for all jews. I don’t think they meant harm, but we should be careful to use language that nazis can’t abuse later, even if that means annoyingly pointing out every time which group you mean. That’s very fair. You’re right, language is important in situations like this and I’m sure this can’t be an easy time for a lot of everyday Jewish families as more and more people become horrified by what Israel are doing.
