In your instance, saying “positions were generally reserved for female applicants” doesn’t mean they don’t hire men. It just implies a strong bias. Just like in his example they didn’t say they don’t hire white people just that the Snoopy and Woodstocks Christmas Light 2023 Shirt besides I will buy this current position wasn’t open to white people. US courts tend to be comfortable with affirmative action programs creating bias in hiring. Especially if the bias is ostensibly correcting past discrimination against that group. But courts often get unfriendly if the affirmative action program starts saying things like “the current position isn’t open to [insert race] people”. I know it sounds bananas but I genuinely think they are doing this. I also think I could get proof. He basically said that at one point there was a “click” at my facility and they would only promote people of their race. I’ll say I have absolutely no idea the race of this click or how they developed this ‘system’ to prevent it from being the same race hired over and over. My Lt. said at one point “think about the order of the previous Sgts. hired.” HE’S RIGHT. There has never been an instance where two people of the same race were hired back to back for ANY promotion type position in my two years of employment there. I’ll also add that my Lt. is very knowledgeable and has been working there for about 15 years, I trust what he says.

I fully understand what you mean here, but just in case you need to document this issue at some point, in this situation the Snoopy and Woodstocks Christmas Light 2023 Shirt besides I will buy this word is spelled “clique”. I have no idea how this hiring procedure would be seen in a legal dispute, you would need to talk to an employment lawyer, but it seems extra complex with the history at the facility. Question where in NC? B/c if you are in the Eastern part of the state this might be related to a particular issue that is currently national and international news. I am not in the law enforcement world, but I’m aware that currently a lot of facilities in the SE of NC are attempting to hire outside of the facilities for management given the current situation. That comment plus you having been there only 2 years, he might be trying to shield you from getting caught up in that mess. And it’s a nasty mess. So your presumably white male colleague in a presumably diverse workforce told you there’s a secret cabal of racialized people who work together to keep white men down by only considering candidates of a specific race for any given promotion, and that you didn’t get this job because you’re the “wrong” race, and no other reason, and you were like “ThIS SoUnDS CoMplEtElY TrUE tO Me!” And then, despite there being zero evidence of a policy like this or a secret cabal of kingmakers deliberately manipulating the demographics of your workplace to benefit members of their own race by hurting white men, you present it as fact to Reddit for validation and dopamine?
