All I can do is lay my head low and try to instill some love and appreciation for the Snoopy and woodstock north pole gifts xmas shirt Also,I will get this actual world around us, instead of focusing on the system that was designed to keep us working, distracted, and always hungry for more. I don’t want my daughter growing up consumed by the idea that somehow she’s supposed to make it out of this hole or bring her family up with her, like mine made me feel. I just want her to be happy. I just want to be happy. I just want everyone to be able to find their own happiness. I just don’t think that exists within the system designed to keep us depressed yknow. American greed is what it is. Companies bringing American jobs to foreign countries so they can pay less. Scrapping the pensions in exchange for a shitty 401k to save themselves money. Much more competitive due to the population of our country. I’m definitely not having children. The ones who do who know they technically can’t afford a kid just blow my mind. That’s about 250k you’re spending on that child til age 18. Could put that aside for your retirement so you’re not yanno…. Homeless at 87.

Still low level job, barely paying bills, and I can’t remember if she was still living with her parents or had moved in with me yet, but rent would’ve killed her ability to spend any money on the smallest of luxuries. She felt like she was just doing something wrong. Then one day, her grandparents visited and she got a glimpse into what the problem was. They were both retired, own their home, go on pretty frequent trips, and have hobbies that they spend money on and enjoy their time with. He was a truck driver and she was a school cafeteria lunch lady. It suddenly clicked for my wife that it’s not that she’s doing something wrong, it’s that the system has changed to make it almost impossible for her to ever reach that level of prosperity.
