I’ve used it once in living memory, a Tesco van was overtaking an old boy doing about 7 miles an hour on a country road, I was coming round the Slipknot Subliminal Verses 2005 World Tour shirt and I will buy this corner and had to slam on my brakes and gave him a hoot. Knowing how little we use them in this country, he knew what the message was. I can relate. My horn is reserved for special occasions, like warning pedestrians of my presence or scaring pigeons. I’ve been driving 11 years and only used the horn twice, and that was twice on the same day, so I was probably just in a very bad mood that particular day and feeling impatient. Every other month when I take my dog to the groomer’s in the arsehole of nowhere and there are blind bends on really tight single track roads. I just beep when I go round a corner because you absolutely cannot see from the other direction.

I did recently as someone started reversing towards me at quite a speed and I wanted to make sure they knew I was there. Most people use it in anger or annoyance though, and I sometimes wonder if it would actually be safer to not have them. Once was just to test it cause i never used it before, once was cause i waited behind somebody at a light for about 10 seconds, and once was cause some twat was drifting into my Slipknot Subliminal Verses 2005 World Tour shirt and I will buy this lane on a slip road.
