Some schools, especially in built-up areas, may allow access to the Slint Nosferatu Fanart Shirt Furthermore, I will do this roof. There may be space to relax, sometimes swimming pools, or sports areas there, storage space, or gardening space. Oh, I know there are schools that actually do have pools on the roof. They don’t even seem to be that uncommon in Tokyo, I saw multiple from Tokyo Skytree when I visited. I was responding to the previous poster implying that seniors were messing with freshmen by lying to them about there being a pool on the roof but that the roof was locked so they couldn’t go see it. The same kind of thing happened at my high school. Since Google Earth/Maps made satellite maps freely available people can easily see whether there’s actually a pool or not. More and more schools are locking up the rooftop for safety and liability purposes even with the high fence. So while it’s like an anime trope now it’ll likely become obsolete as less and less people can relate to the scenario. As someone else mentioned some schools have leveraged the rooftop to build a swimming pool so they would be accessible during swimming class and club practice

Now they’re just recognisable tropes that writers and animators can easily make use of. -Leaning out of windows en masse to watch (or indeed paying any attention whatsoever to) love confessions or arguments.
