One of the Slash Holiday 2023 shirt Besides,I will do this worst parts is the psychological affect on young people, it used to be once you left school you could disconnect, be yourself without any worry of what your friends think, now it’s 24/7, kids never get a break from social bullshit that comes with that age. With that we also see all these internet Star wannabes, causing chaos for internet clout, most of which will amount to nothing. Yes. I have yet to see a benefit from social media. I know you can picture the following because it happens to everyone: You are friends with someone on social media. They aren’t really your friend, they are a social media friend. What happens when you encounter them in person? Social media is just fake life. Keeping score with a bunch of worthless friends and followers. Wasting hours and hours of time everyday. Comment sections were the beginning of the end. People barely get along in person let alone with a screen and hundreds of miles between them. Jealousy, lies, easy access to be unfaithful, short videos on complex issues making everyone an expert. The effect it’s had on mental health, particularly women’s mental health, alone is enough to call it a failed experiment. If people didn’t get along before the internet they at least tolerated each other. We’re so entitled to our opinions/comments we lost a lot of decency and understanding. Well before social media, you had forums, which still exist today. And other early iterations. But there were still groups that created their own echo chambers and engaged in groupthink. We still did stupid shit but didn’t post it online for eternity. But, that part is worse. You have idiots doing stupid shit to go viral and people follow the trend.

One positive aspect of social media is its use in times of crises, when family, neighbors, and friends can stay connected without being close to each other. This is the Slash Holiday 2023 shirt Besides,I will do this one major benefit of social media. Yeah it was. Social media changes most people who have it especially women. That’s thier playground. Tiktok is mainly women on there. 60% women last I looked. Attention is a hell of a drug and most succumb to it. So yeah it’s bad. It has some good. But I’d say we were better off without it. Did my senior project in econ on this. There is no measurable metric where social media has made the world a better place. But there are a lot that made it worse. Social media sucks. Personally I could do without email, too. Some days I spend most of my time writing damn emails.
