We drove together through Germany and Switzerland and stayed with her friends in various cities along the way. After the weekend at the indoor slope we stayed with her boyfriend’s parents in a suburb outside of Amsterdam for two weeks. I was on Facebook while we were there and saw this Australian girl post that she was writing an article for a magazine on the “Sail Croatia” experience and could bring four people for free – it started in 3 days. I said I could do it and was on a flight the next day. Spent a week for free with these aussies who were so lovely. I ended up actually staying with them in Australia for about a month a few years after that it was such a lovely experience and they are great friends to this day.

In 2022, my sister and I were flying to Louisville from Vancouver. Now, there is no direct flight to Louisville from Vancouver (it is such a pain to get there), but usually it is just one layover. I also climbed the volcano and witnessed a group of Capuchin monkeys and spider monkeys having a territorial brawl above me in the forest. The tour guide told me that in all his years he has never seen something like that. Costa Rica was so good to me.

He egged me on and said there’s nothing to worry about and i jumped in with him, snorkeling together, swimming down to see if our anchor had latched on to anything…i felt like i had really released something inside of me. Brought me to tears almost, that i could face a fear and not care and that it felt wonderful Um, your example is amazing. My wife and I were staying in a flat very close to Pitti Palace, in Florence. We were relaxing one dreary morning and she ran out for snacks. She came back and said, “Um, you might want to come back out here with me. There are some cool cars.” We walked the 50 meters or so to Piazza de’ Pitti and see not “some cool cars” but a seemingly endless procession of the most exotic, rare, expensive cars I’d ever seen. Turns out it was the Mille Miglia. That year they just happened to be celebrating Stirling Moss, so there were no less than 3 (I’m thinking more like 5 or 6) Stirling Moss edition SLRs, one after another. For context, only 75 of those cars were ever made. It was so cool, even for non-car people.

Scuba diving in a freshwater cavern through stalactites and stalagmites, surfacing and seeing hundreds of bats clinging to the ceiling. Also scuba diving under some mangroves and seeing a crocodile basking on the surface while I swim underneath it.

We all travelled to Berlin together to see the sites and maybe some clubs Had a great night at Tresor – it was their anniversary so big crowd and fun lineup. Come 6am it’s time to leave and my mate suggests we try Berghain.
We decided to split up cos it’s easier to get in. I feel so bad for these sweet, warm hearted people having to go through what they are right now. Its an amazing place but the borders are usually closed now. It’s a total different experience in terms of VIP seating, free stuff, no waiting for anything.
