What is the point of using the word obsessively other than trying to make people who have logic and like to be prepared look bad It’s apparently anybody who decides to be in front of me, needs to take their time to pick out two dozen donuts. My husband likely has this. He gets completely overwhelmed by menus and will ask the server what they recommend or what is most popular instead of looking through it and deciding for himself. I always order the same thing at every restaurant I go to. Each place has a thing that I always order, that is. So I have never had to deal with this. There’s a taco place around the corner from my condo in Puerto Vallarta where I eat lunch a minimum of 3-4 days a week.

Then you look at what someone else has ordered and realize that you wish you would have ordered that. It makes no difference whether you made your choice in 20 seconds or ten minutes. The outcome is the same: someone else made a better choice. Paralysis by choice is a thing. When confronted by too many choices to give reasonable analysis to each choice, people respond by not choosing any. A lot of people do the review the menu just to make sure all parties included will eat the food at that establishment. For some reason I always have to read off directly from the menu what I want or else I panic and can’t remember what I wanted to order
