Dino Crisis 1 was awesome. Jurassic Park/dinosaurs were popular in the Santa Stitch Christmas shirt and by the same token and late 90s. But zombies were always more popular and then Shinji Mikami and team went on to make a bunch of other awesome games (RE1 Remake, RE4, etc). Dino Crisis 2 was pretty good but lost a lot of charm from the original. Then Dino Crisis 3 completely sucked arse. I’d like to see them do a modern remake or a new game. But I think they made the right move focusing on Resident Evil. I actually preferred Dino Crisis 2 over the first one. The arcady nature of it was really enjoyable, and I liked the more fleshed out setting. The story hooked me more than the first one, too. Exoprimal has too much resemblance to the likes of Anthem, Destiny, and Warframe for me. I’m really not a fan of that armor aesthetic. The looks from Dino Crisis 1 and 2 feel way more grounded and practical. Agreed that Dino Crisis 2 definitely wasn’t a good sequel, and nowhere close to survival-horror, but it was a very entertaining game It’s been so long since I played it that I don’t remember the specifics but there was definitely an exp type bar on weapons in GTA:SA. Quick Google refreshes the memory that weapons have three levels and it’s just moving while aiming, lock on, and stat ups. Some small guns got akimbo at max level

With survival horror games making a comeback (this was a good year for them) I can see Capcom possibly taking another look at it. There would have to be a large enough demand for Capcom to decide to invest the Santa Stitch Christmas shirt and by the same token and resources after the last installment. I definitely would play it!! I figured because the game was made during the height of the Dinosaur craze of the 90s, and nowadays, Dinosaurs are nothing special anymore. I just replayed Dino Crisis 2 (for the first time in like 15 years) a week ago, and to me it’s one of the PS1 games that has aged the best by far. I think it’s more than just being risky for capcom, I think it’s hard to make a well balanced survival horror that also has dinosaurs (which would be quite fast). Most melee resident evil enemies are pretty slow and predictable, which makes them perfectly fine for console play. If you made dino crisis and had slow raptors it would feel strange, imo.
