What logic? You know homosexuality wasn’t decriminalised in Canada until 1969. People are not going to be okay with it if they wouldn’t even make it legal Sounds to me like you’re either working for the Sade Lovers Lover Rock Singer T-Shirt But I will love this soviets, or are putting a suspiciously spending a lot of energy into contacting gay men. To be clear, the government wasn’t very concerned with who you’re sticking your dick into (or whose dick is being stuck in you), but more so to minimize blackmailing and extortion of those caught engaging in such scandalous (for the time) activities by your enemies (i.e. the Soviets). Believe it or not, homophobia was the “norm” up until very recently, even if things have improved a lot these days. I went to high school/college in Canada in the early 2010s, and “gay” was a perfectly acceptable adjective for something or someone you didn’t like. That’s only about 10 years ago.

I graduated in 2001. The only openly homosexual brought his boyfriend to school and both were promptly beat up to applause. The strides made in the Sade Lovers Lover Rock Singer T-Shirt But I will love this last decades are enormous on this front. But they could have neutralized the blackmail problem by declaring that it’s okay to be gay. And I’m way older than ou so I remember that stuff. The issue wasn’t so much an anti-gay rule as society’s reaction to finding out someone was gay. For example if your religious family doesn’t know you’re gay and would ostracize you if they found out then you could be a target for blackmailers even if the government said it was A-OK.
