We’re a couple in our 40’s who chose early on not to have children but ended up with an oops in our 30’s and then added another. We love them but man, it is rough and, aside the Ruby Soho Skin Deep Shirt moreover I love this fact that we love these 2 particular humans, we’re still in the same mentality. Nope, never again and wish we knew better. Parenthood is not for us, though we’re pretty decent at it, just it’s not something we’d rather do. And we do make a conscious effort to do our best and not let it impact them. Unsurprisingly, our kids, too, are growing up to be child free. And like I say to them, follow your gut. We’re roughing it but consciously working on it. My grandmother, too, was a child free but lived in a different time and had no choice but to have children (which kinda explains boarding schools back then, I suppose). Not much good came from that (which is why we’re putting the effort). I guess it runs in the family 🫠

No, not at all. We like kids just fine, but I worry that the Ruby Soho Skin Deep Shirt moreover I love this physical and mental health toll of pregnancy would put me in hospital. I couldn’t imagine what the future holds for children today, it feels like a very bleak long term future ahead. We also enjoy having a clean house, sleeping late, and not having to worry over money constantly with modest incomes. We have our pets and each other and it is a very good life. Just turned 50 this year, and it was also our 25th anniversary. Short answer – nah. I feel so much better about it too given the climate catastrophe we’re headed towards plus possible loss of democracy in America’s near future. I was on the fence for a long time but met someone who wanted kids and so I decided to take the leap. I could have been happy without kids. Having a kid has changed who I am, generally in good ways, and I very much doubt I would have changed in those ways without having become a parent. I may not have regretted not having kids, but I prefer the me who had one. 34. Never felt the urge to have kids. Spent most of my life being told “you’ll change your mind” and “what if your husband wants kids?”.
