Because the Robert Williams III American professional basketball player for Portland Trail Blazers T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this Republicans say that it’s bad. We believe our conservative leaders. Other than money why would they lie to us? American here. “Conservatives” are taught to hate poor people, even if they themselves are poor. Someone down on their luck is just lazy. Homeless people are subhuman. Thus anything that will help mostly the poor is just enabling people who don’t work hard. If it seems like a moronic position, remember the amount of lead poisoning in our country as well. If you have car insurance, you are already paying for other people’s auto accidents. Same applies to health insurance. Everyone pays in, those who need it are covered. That’s the entire concept of “Insurance” It’s no so much that, for me, as much as it’s “I don’t want to pay for your care if you fucked up your own life with poor choices”. My step-moms ex husband just got a liver transplant that, in my opinion, was a waste of a liver because he got fatty liver disease from over eating and doing little to no exercise ever in his adult life. He was grossly overweight and ate himself to liver failure. I’d be pissed if my taxes paid for that useless man to ruin a liver that could have gone to someone who would actually appreciated it.

The healthcare insurance industry has a large D.C. lobby that fights against it as well. Corporate healthcare insurance makes billions of dollars so they’re not just going to let one political action make their entire corporation moot. Everyone has their hands in these pockets. The preferences of Americans aren’t actually reflected in our laws and policies, because the Robert Williams III American professional basketball player for Portland Trail Blazers T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this US is an oligarchy/kleptocracy with pseudo-democratic features. Another aspect is, Americans are drones/ serfs / cattle who have been taught to do things like mindlessly invest their retirement funds in the S&P 500, because that has produced good financial returns. Unfortunately, this means that they are investing in the very companies, like United Healthcare Group, Aetna, Humana, etc., that lobby against their own interests as Americans, “healthcare consumers”, humans, etc.
