Overall I’d probably give it a 7.5/10. Might go up to an 8 on rewatch. The only part I had major issues with was the Retro style dad by day gamer by night shirt and by the same token and bomb that blew up a foot from Batman’s face and sent him flying back 20 feet, not killing him. Batmobile reveal and ensuing chase, muzzle flash lighted scene, Riddler knowing Batmans identity (sike), Batman leading survivors through the water with a flare, lots of truly great scenes. The biggest issue, the runtime. Some of the scenes really dragged on, and even though I do feel like none of those scenes were a waste of time, I do think some of excessive lingering shots (batman taking literally a minute to take an envelope out of a cage with a bat in it, for instance), could have been cut down a lot.

Good acting all around and an excellent score. Saw it twice and really had me thinking about the Retro style dad by day gamer by night shirt and by the same token and character + themes in the movie. Turning vengeance into Hope for the city and Started moving away from being just a vigilante. How it was played that Bruce Wayne was basically non existent—always out at night as Batman, then reviewing his crimes from the eye recordings in the morning. Homeboy was straight up obsessed with angrily fighting crime and didn’t care about being in public or any family money situation. Quite sad really Pattinsons face and eye acting within the suit was great. And I really liked the drifter outfit/half -disguise where it seemed like he carried part of the Batsuit around in a canvas bag. Thought that was quite grounded and unique for the character I think the biggest takeaway for the character was that he neglected his Bruce identity – and despite his abilities as a vigilante, he actually can achieve more good using his money and influence. If he hadn’t been so disassociated with Bruce, he might’ve even noticed the misappropriation of his fathers’ “Renewal” funds.
