That said, loved the Raven pattern halloween shirt besides I will buy this first 2 hours. Knew pattinson would nail it, great actor. I’m starting to feel insane about me disliking the movie this much while watching the reviews. It really didn’t hit the spot for me. Felt like it could have been any semi-poor detective movie. The ‘awesome’ detective moments didn’t come through clean, as everything he said/found out was obvious to everyone (but the police, apparently?) First movie in a very long time, where I couldn’t wait for it to finish. You’re not insane, I saw it with a bunch of normal friends (not diehard redditors that have read every Batman comic) and we had mixed feelings. Some aspects were awesome, and some were bad. I’ll probably get downvoted for this but oh well, I thought it was pretty good. I liked the almost Fincher-like thriller/noire vibe it was going for, unfortunately I think the PG rating really kept it from working. I don’t need the movie to he R-Rated, but I don’t think a tone this dark works with a PG rating, it just felt really off to me the whole time. I also found it really hard to take the character of Batman seriously on this movie because of how seriously took itself. I think Nolan’s Batman is as serious as I can go for Batman. I’ve never had that happen before, but I could not take him seriously because the film took itself SO seriously. But that’s probably just personal preference. I don’t think any of the comics or animated series have ever tried to go this dark and serious before and it just did not work for me. I think if you’re going to go this dark and serious with Batman, you have to have him out of the suit for most of it and the suit should only be used when he needs to fight or put the fear of god in someone and the interactions with Jim. But he’s in his suit for like 80% of his screen time and I just could not take a guy dressed like a bat seriously in a movie this dark and serious.

I also don’t think it needed to be 3 hours long what so ever. It probably could have been 15-30 mins shorter. It felt like it was really dragging by the Raven pattern halloween shirt besides I will buy this end. That last sequence of Batman and Catwoman driving through graveyard, there were like 3 different shots just in the graveyard when they only needed one. Some small nitpicks, I get that he’s supposed to be very early in his “career” as Batman and as a result his Tech and gadgets are more DIY, but it still felt like he was more low-tech than he should have been. Batman’s cape serves a purpose, it allows him to glide and has other applications in combat. That’s why he has it. It doesn’t here so it makes it really silly that he even has one. Im not saying he shouldn’t have had one, I’m saying the fact that it doesn’t do anything makes it really silly and adds to my inability to take it seriously. For instance, when he jumps off the roof of the GCPD, I don’t think it would have taken away from his DIY vibe to have his cape do the gliding there, that’s slightly higher tech than what is publicly available, which is what Bruce Wayne would have access to at this stage. But it didn’t do anything and that just made me question why he even had one? Like you’re telling me he was designing this suit super tactical suit and then just decided to add a fucking cape in the end for style? Yeah okay…
