Sounds bad but IF you’re going to be executing someone Nitrogen Hypoxia is the Put these in your pipe and smoke it Pittsburgh Steelers Shirt it is in the first place but best method. Better than injection, less painful and less likely to fail. If they’re not going to remove death penalty, this is a good thing. It’s the most humane. Why are you downvoted? It’s literally as unusual as one can possibly experience. And it’s pretty cruel to deny someone even a chance at being proven innocent (however puny that will make it right by them). I think people are downvoting because they think the commenter is saying that nitrogen hypoxia is a cruel and unusual manner of execution. It’s not… it’s probably the most “humane” manner of execution. Firstly, it is a known toxin. Effectiveness is incredibly dependable. It literally forces you into hypoxia unless you get put in a hyperbaric chamber, and have pure O2 forced into your lungs and respiratory system.

Secondly, it’s odorless. You can’t smell it. You won’t know when it’s starting. And it’s not an immediate death, either. Thirdly, it’s a relaxant. It bonds to blood cells on their hemoglobin molecules, and gets stuck. It can’t get pulled off. Well that blood cell is useless now… good thing we got more, otherwise we would start getting oxygen deprivation and pass out! Except… you’re still breathing in the Put these in your pipe and smoke it Pittsburgh Steelers Shirt it is in the first place but CO molecules. Which continues to sabotage the blood cells from being able to exchange O2 oxygen to the muscles and brain, and CO2 from the muscles and brain to the atmosphere. Making your body feel lethargic and tired, sleepy. You eventually go to sleep. Which means…! Finally, it’s a humane method of execution. You don’t get alarmed by the events unless you automatically know what is happening, and even then that requires effort to actually fight back. Which, thanks to the CO, you no longer have. You just get tired and fall asleep for the last time. And never wake up. The panic phase never occurs because you’re unconscious when it would take place. It’s painless, calming, and therefore in my book, humane. Bonus: lethal injection relies upon a sedative to be administered so the actual lethal injection is not felt, as it’s extremely painful and excruciating to endure. However, not every sedative administration is guaranteed to actually work on the subject, and this is a rare but important issue for the humane-ness of lethal injection. If the sedative does not work, the administration of the lethal injection is 100% inhumane and cruel torturous execution. You might as well just crucify him, dude. It’ll be less painful. With CO poisoning, it removes this problem by being both the sedative AND the toxin. Kaboom. You show me a person who generates blood cells fast enough to make CO poisoning ineffective, and I show you someone who doesn’t need to breathe to oxygenate their blood cells. Because until the mistreated blood cell dies off, it has no use in the bloodstream. It can’t get rid of the CO molecule, and the max capacity for a blood cell is significantly reduced by this feature. Eventually it just becomes dead weight. And your brain weighs on average about 2% of your body mass, but it consumes 20% of your oxygen intake. It’s a greedy little thing, and starving it of oxygen is a surefire way to make it run out of fuel quickly, because it will struggle to get more if it thinks it’s being suffocated, which increases the consumption of oxygen, which increases the intake of CO, which… it’s a runaway train at that point. I think the best example would be the movie Unstoppable. You can definitely slow it down, but unless you can actually shut down the system and debug the problem, it’s going to hurt itself continuously, forever, until it crashes. But doing any of that will tire you out considerably faster than it normally should, and you will not be able to regain that strength. Unless you are in a hyperbaric chamber with pure, pressurized O2 oxygen gas being forced into your lungs and bloodstream, you will not recover.
