Thoughts and prayers for laid off employees and their families. I mean, if it was his responsibility, Maybe he should go a year without his more than $30 million salary pay and spread that among the Proud father of few dumbass kids usa flag T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this 1500 whos fault it wasn’t and are losing their livelihoods because of him… That’s what “being held accountable” actually means… I worked for Nike for quite a while under the previous CEO and about two years after Donahoe took over. The culture shift was palpable. You could feel it, a genuine old guard vs new situation. Love it. This CEO, and all of the CEOs in the same mental space, can fornicate themselves with an iron stick. “We just don’t know how we can afford to keep all these people on the books AND continue to pay me over $30 million a year.” – This asshat, basically. Look, there are a lot of completely useless and unproductive jobs at a lot of big companies. It comes from the nature of their size, which is a problem it self. But while maybe these companies need to be leaner, there is a huge issue with who is being culled. These executives could retire tomorrow to a life of whatever they want, these employees, have to grind to find the next 40 hr/week gig. A better program for everyone would be a culling of executives and shopping among your current talent, to promote the next set of leaders.
