Bring in teachers who know their content deeply. Let them teach it. Give them adequate time to prepare lessons and provide feedback. Everybody is different; I’m a better teacher when I can focus on engaging things and bring my own enthusiasm to those things, teach what I see a need to teach in the Premium bluey Cartoon Dog Character shirt and I love this classroom to fill skill deficits, etc. The push to “have a learning target aligned to standards” is a waste of time. Why would I force kids to “analyze how a theme develops in the text” when they can’t even understand on-level content? Why would I teach how to use semicolons when kids can’t even reliably capitalize? Let teachers teach and insist on high quality teachers; pay them well, give them freedom, and give them more time to create good materials+provide quality feedback. Reduce class sizes. If kids are overtly disruptive, provide real consequences to those kids to discourage them from continuing to disrupt. Get rid of corrupt politicians, including board of education members. Invest in parenting education. Raise salaries to get a better/larger pool of candidates for the profession.

Real change won’t come unless the Premium bluey Cartoon Dog Character shirt and I love this public education system is dismantled to some extent. Throwing money at schooling has not helped. I propose to turn high school years into what college is right now (specialized career pathing for a diploma). Having mentorship programs for students upon completion of high school. These two changes will better incentivize students for autonomy and hopefully prepare them for the world. But it also will lead to less rigid structure leading to some students falling through who either just don’t care about school or cause too many problems. Not sure if it’s just my kids school personally but their books are online for some classes and not for others. I also don’t feel what they use is user friendly especially for younger kids. If the books are online every subject is in a different place with a different log in. Maybe it won’t help and I’m just old fashioned by having a physical book at school and at home is nice. I could then check my kids grades and see they’re struggling with chapter 3 and help them.
