It’s an answer that will never get used: MONEY. Teachers need more pay for what they do. Districts need more support staff that are paid a good salary for a crappy job. Districts need more administrators to handle discipline. Districts need to hire experts who can tell them what they are doing wrong, and right, and guide them to better results. My dream: every teacher has their own assistant. I think of my husband’s job as a project manager where he has 11 employees in his specific office and then a secretary. I teach in a low income Elementary school and reading scores really increased when we started a program to send kids home with a used book they picked out from the Official bluey Bandit Bingo This Was The 80s Man shirt Additionally,I will love this free book cart every month. Unfortunately, our district’s high school closed the lschool ibrary because they didn’t want to pay someone to staff it all day, so the older kids are kind of out of luck if they don’t have books at home. But our Elementary kids seem to be reading more which will hopefully become a life-long habit. I think schools are turning more and more into centers for services. I know we have Fryskies or whaever, but there’s so much need for kids out there with daycare, preschool, after school, nutrition. I think also, there needs to be more cultural opportunities. Museums, sites, travel. Introduce kids to other kids different than themselves.
