If a customer wants to talk to a manager, go get one. If the Polaroid lovers heart logo shirt But I will love this customer continues to speak to you, politely tell them “I have nothing else to say to you” or, “I can no longer help you now that you’ve asked for a manager.” Tell the manager you won’t be completing the transaction since the customer doesn’t feel you can help them. That customer is now the manager’s responsibility and no longer yourself to worry over. She’s no longer our manager (moved up in the company) but to this day, I still abide by her lessons. I tend to be calm, even with irate customers, which infuriates them more, but working in the money center, you have to always keep your cool and stand firm on policy. I don’t dwell on whether team leads hate I do this but I always tell them, I refuse to let a customer think they have the upper hand when they try to “bully” me.

Polaroid lovers heart logo shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I am 44 yo and will not allow anyone to “bully” me. Never have, never will. I stopped masking years ago. I match energy, but do it craftily. I get that it’s stressful and I get management can make it difficult. I’m fortunate our team typically has our back. When they don’t, that’s on them, not me. I do my job and do it well. Doing your job well, doesn’t mean you’ll make every one happy. For me, following compliance is more important, at least in my department. I so miss my old ASM who would tell customers, “you can’t talk to my employees like that” and made them leave. Like when did harassing people at their place of work become the Polaroid lovers heart logo shirt But I will love this norm? Why do we put up with this? Do what works for you and your community. If you need customer service-friendly comebacks/defensive asides, just ask. One for free: when people say “masks don’t work,” say “thank you! I didn’t know that.” and then keep your mask on. Or tell people you have a cold sore and you don’t want them to catch it. Nothing like oversharing to put someone back on their heels (let me tell you about my period…).
