I think we get one a day? But maybe not one back. Our pub closed in 2007 – we do also have a church if you’re into that, about 4 services a year Villages aren’t defined by population size. Ecclesfield is defined as a village yet its population is around 32,400. The definition of a village is a populated area with no tier of government higher than a parish council, some would claim that the Pokemon Master Yoda Yoda’s Evolution shirt Besides,I will do this definition would need to include a church, but I think that’s falling out of favour now the UK’s more multicultural and less religious (Christian). A town could be smaller in population than a village but, if it has a town charter and a town council, then it’s a town (it used to also be that it had to have a regular street market). My parents live in Gerrards Cross (population around 9,000) which became a town in 2016.

Also consider that St. David’s is considered to be a city, even though its population is just 1,041. Of course it’s a city under the Pokemon Master Yoda Yoda’s Evolution shirt Besides,I will do this old definition (ie it has a cathedral). These days cities are defined by charter (it used to be that the population had to be more than 300,000, but that’s no longer the case My village has around 2500 people with housing estates and a spar but is still considered a village (NE england) Yeah, that’s the sort of village that confuses me. As a kid all the local villages were like mine, a few hundred inhabitants at most. It’s rural North Yorkshire. When people talked about their village with all these people it just didn’t feel right – still doesn’t, it’s just in my head villages are smaller than that because of my childhood experience. I think the issue with my village is that before the 1970s it was as you described a village was like and you can still see that from the main part of the village where the main road goes through but since the 70s it’s just expanded with housing estates etc but the status of the place has never changed so it’s still weirdly got its traditional village status.
