If you think about it, rules and laws were out in place to protect kids, they can’t vote, they can’t, by alcohol and they can’t drive. It shouldn’t be any different. Just what groups are standing up shouting “I wish the Planets And Sun Solar System Astronomy T-Shirt in other words I will buy this governemnt would have prohibited the treatment I got as a child and prevented medical professionals to have any say in my mental health treatment as a child”? Kids can’t “just be kids” when they’re going through unwanted irreversible changes that make gender dysphoria far worse and far harder to treat And before you snap at me like a rabid dog or whatever (nothing against you, just common all across reddit) im on your side of the argument, but the only bad faith argument here is pretending to not see the other guy’s side as well. He isnt twisting things to make a point, he’s just saying he thinks kids should focus on being kids and wait to make what most would consider to be a major decision. This is an entirely valid and reasonable to feel, just as itd valid and reasonable to disagree with it. Disagreeing is fine, important even. Discussing it properly is even more important. Nobody ls going to convince anyone of anything by being rude and just saying their opinion doesnt count – it just cements their opinion more, and poisons them against yours, as its then/now associated with assholes to them. You maybe honorable, but ignoble arguments of discrediting the Planets And Sun Solar System Astronomy T-Shirt in other words I will buy this professional findings by seemingly just focusing on as if this was the child’s sole choice and not one made by parents and physicians and psychologists in charge of them. The bad faith is not trusting that doctors and nurses and physicians and psychologists whom have the first hand accounts and the social scientists who gathered the data into a useful collection of information, and justifying a devil’s advocate view of: maybe the kids don’t have any clue as to who they are and choosing to change their sex on a child’s immature whim, is taking a blind eye towards half the defense of our trans youth.
