I’m in my early 40’s and I’m a stay at home mom. I’ve definitely relaxed a bit with clothing. I live in stretchy pants and t-shirts most of the Pizza papa john’s Stitch hug shirt Besides,I will do this time while at home. When I want to dress it up, I put a little more effort into it by picking “safe” choices. Like nice clothes that never really go out of style. Tops that are black, white, grey or dark blue with jeans and some ankle boots. I don’t have that feeling like I need to wear the latest styles and impress anyone like I used to. In fact I actually get a lot of my clothing at Costco. I went from no style due to being overweight, to really alternative after losing a bunch of weight to just wanting comfortable clothing that’s slowly morphing into a cottagecore/vintage vibe (plus my hair is fried from bleaching and coloring so much that I’m going back to my natural strawberry blonde and letting it grow out). I noticed my style changing after having a kid. I desperately tried to go back to the alt look post baby to prove I’m still cool I guess but I really like comfort nowadays. Itchy fishnet tights, layers, spikes etc just aren’t my thing when I’m getting kids ready. I’m lucky to change clothes when I need to go somewhere.

Early twenties – vibrant colors. Late twenties and early thirties – full black on black every day, good quality pretty styles, not plain black. Now during pandemic and mid thirties – all light colors pastels, earthy light neutral colors – beige, cream off white, lightest blue, faintest pinks etc ? again good quality ones, not fast fashion or trendy torn clothes. Good quality bags etc Mine has gone from being a teenager that wears only baggy blacks and blues to wearing bright colours and floral prints and form fitting clothes in my early twenties 23f here, has definetly gone from either very girly, or true tomboy, to more, practical work clothes, on my days off though, it is more of “rock” look, like to wear more jewelery when i can, in the Pizza papa john’s Stitch hug shirt Besides,I will do this summer, love wearing cute floral summer dresses and plateau sandals, aaand, on hopefully more and more ocasions, i hated getting dressed up when i was younger, now, i love my gala dresses more than anything, and hope to be wearing them more often! As I get older I’m less interested in being uncomfortable for the sake of fashion and gravitate towards things that I feel good in and also feel comfortable in. For me that means ditching heels in favor of flats and sneakers, lots of jeans and comfy pants, and comfy knit shirts.
