My wife has been in a post concussion syndrome whirlwind where every day feels like a new concussion, going on 2 + years now. She finally got in to see this highly recommended doctor that specializes in concussions. The doctor started the appointment by asking her what her symptoms were. So my wife starts listing off “headache, memory fog, nausea, dizzyn——” My wife felt that was so rude because there is a battle with 9 or 10 very debilitating symptoms every single day. Anyway to save a long story, she told her that alot.of people suffer from mental health and alot of people goto work with a headache. For context, she was rear ended at a complete stop and my wife now struggles to get words out of her mouth when speaking, her eye sight was ruined, she runs into walls, falls over nothing frequently, headache always, her heart rate increases to 130-140 with minimal task such as listening to someone speak, nausea, dizziness, her memory is shot, can only last about 5 min in a social environment. Went to relatively new-to-me doctor for annual visit for renewal of thyroid meds, which I can’t function without. Doctor sees lots of labs just over the line of normal for problems that are metabolic in nature and wants to prescribe lots of other drugs. I tell doctor if I have a problem that is metabolic in nature, I prefer to make diet and lifestyle changes to manage it first, and point out the sole metabolic problem I have had up until now that is successfully controlled with diet and lifestyle changes, and i want to do the same with the others first before thinking about meds that will come with side effects (as opposed to the thyroid hormone i take that supplies me with what my body doesnt produce). Doctor goes absolutely ballistic about this, stating that I need to take these meds to prevent problems and if I don’t want to treat anything, why do i go to the doctor?. I reply that it’s because I can’t function without my thyroid meds. Then the doctor says, “If the only reason you are going to the doctor is to get those meds, then that makes me just a pill-pusher, and I don’t want to be a pill-pusher.” #facepalm

I was on antidepressants for a while, over a year. Finally opened up to my doctor when I was suicidal a few years ago. She told me it’s because I am seeking attention. Ended up in the hospital a week later, fucking idiot. My insurance changed so I had to get a new psychiatrist. The one my insurance assigned me to was an awful man. When I walked in he was reading my file and his first words were “it’s about time they stop sending me the overweight women with no teeth” I said excuse me. He then told me he couldn’t believe I wasn’t overweight and had all my teeth because it seemed like that’s all the kind of women he was getting. I was shocked, I got up and walked out told the receptionist what happened. Called my insurance company told them I needed another doctor. Backstory: I have a full hormonal imbalance(thyroid problem, diabetes…), and heavy period pain. I went to the doctor with three blood test results, which showed three different problems.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
