I actually do “meditate” when I’m doing stuff around the Peanuts X Clemson Welcome To Death Valley shirt and I love this house, like doing the dishes or vacuuming etc. Just breathing. Many people on this thread really took what I wrote out of context. You can find almost this exact same comment all over this group and all throughout meditation teachings for thousands of years. Great that you know this. But many people don’t. I see post again and again that people struggle. Don’t assume everyone knows this. This isn’t something I personally invented, and I never claimed that either. When I do this I’m really relaxed, and I think that is the first step for beginners. We all know how it was in the beginning. To stay focused and concentrate is difficult when you’re not used to it.

Merely my opinion. Trying makes it more complicated. You’ll arrive in the Peanuts X Clemson Welcome To Death Valley shirt and I love this present moment after a while. This is how I do it. You’re always in the present. It’s only the effort of coming back to the present that cut you off from the present and divide you into two entities, the one who is not in the present and the one who is in the present. Personally I’m not really into dualistic practices. I’ve never had good results from allowing myself to think whatever I want. This always becomes distracting for me personally. Building and maintaining focus has been really important for the meditative states that benefit me Great that you found your own way! What I mean in this post is that think about whatever you want, but not like just closing your eyes and think about what your going to have for dinner the next three weeks. You think, almost no matter what. To try to focus and to not think is thinking in itself, counterintuitive. That is what many people who start think meditation is about, to not think at all. To have absolutely nothing inside their head and achieve some sort of enlightenment. That takes a lot of practice and patience. Just don’t over complicate it at first.
