Yeah it’s often really bad in Academia, and based on anecdotal evidence goes unreported at rates worse than sexual harassment I worked in immigration law, & racist xenophobes marry non-white foreigners all the Peace Love Green Bay Packers Logo Shirt and I love this time. And they racially abuse their spouses and leverage their spouse’s immigration status against them too. I guess that’s true. I wonder if their wife/daughters are “different” or if they have contempt for them as well. Internalised misogyny. Grow up in a world that despises them, and a lot of little girls will start to despise other females. They’re taught from a very young age that anything masculine is valued and anything feminine is less than. It’s hard to break out from that sort of full-culture education.

Several high ranking members of the Peace Love Green Bay Packers Logo Shirt and I love this Finns (Far-Right populist party with a lot of overlap with Neo-Nazis, in Finland) have immigrant wives or girlfriends. Fetishation of Asian women by White Supremacists is a weird cognitive dissonance thingy but sometimes it is just general “this is one of the good ones” hypocrisy. It’s a nice little misogyny overlap. They don’t hate Asian women because they aren’t people, they’re trophies. They can fetishize their sex-appeal as something to be owned by the “superior” specimen that they think being a white man inherently makes them. My dad’s family immigrated from Italy in the 1950’s. One of my uncles is anti-immigrant. Ugh. He’s also a shitbird in many more parts of his life. Edited to add my uncle immigrated with his family when he was 4. He’s anti any kind of immigration that doesn’t involve ‘white’ people. Ignoring that at the point he immigrated, very often being Italian was not considered white. His oldest brother (my dad) was chased home from school on the regular for being a ‘dirty D.P.’ Just ugh.
