I think apart of this is also them separating themselves to make themselves look more valuable to these groups. “Look at me, I’m one of the Peace Love Cardinals Shirt Also,I will get this good ones, I think like you”. You see the same thing with Candace Owens. They uphold white supremacy because they feel like if they’re seen by these people in a “good light” they’ll benefit from it. Sorry that was rambling. I have a hard time writing my thoughts out lol. I know two men who won’t stop complaining about immigrants, even legal ones, and think immigrants make life worse. (One of them is my brother) Both of them are married to women who recently became US citizens… They are also both racist. One of them likes to post about white pride. His wife is from South Korea, and they have 5 very Asian looking children. The other one is married to a woman from Columbia, and his children have encountered plenty of racism, which I guess he’s ok with? Idk. I absolutely do not understand how they can rationalize their beliefs.

My dad and aunt complain about immigrants to my immigrant husband. I guess because he’s British it doesn’t count??? As Brexit has shown, when the Peace Love Cardinals Shirt Also,I will get this British go to live in other countries, they are expats. Everyone else is a dirty immigrant. There’s someone my husband’s family knows, who I very much don’t like, who has sat in my house eating my food, and then had the nerve to rant about immigrants and such to me (my dad’s side emigrated from Italy) and so I said: “You mean like my grandparents?” (They came over when they were in their 40’s and had extremely heavy accents. My grandfather was a bit more fluent because of his job) “So you mean my grandmother and great-grandmother?” (They wore traditional headscarves similar to a babushka and Italian “Nonna dresses”) Then there’s my uncle who I mentioned in another comment, who emigrated at 4, with his whole family (including my dad) who now hates immigrants. He’s even had the nerve to complain about “the ones who never learn English” when my grandmother had great, great difficulty with English and my great-grandmother who never learned it hardly at all (she came over at 75). My grandfather could speak it but had an extremely heavy accent and it took a while to get used to how he spoke to understand him. Ugh. His wife is Indian. She wouldn’t be allowed to immigrate if it weren’t for the 60s civil rights. Fwiw, his wife is plenty racist too. California has been working on legislation to make Indian caste discrimination illegal there. I think the first try failed, but it’s obviously a problem for them.
