We prefer to give money, because she can then use it the Patrick Mahomes lies down and celebrates on the field of play At Super Bowl LVIII Shirt moreover I love this way she needs it. She can buy food or she can buy shampoo. Sometimes we buy her things but only when we know it’s something she wants and needs and may not be able to buy for herself either because it’s more expensive or because she has no knowledge of online buying (eg she needed rubber boots because all the water during cleaning, but if she is to get a pair, she will walk to nearest construction store and get some crazy heavy cheap ones. We got her light ones made of a more expensive material, she loves them). It’s nice of you to give the cleaner more money for Christmas but you can’t really force that decision on others. As long as you’re paying fair wages, it’s quite overbearing that you judge your roommate as greedy because they don’t want to pay double (especially if they’re going to get her a different gift that you just don’t approve of). Just mind your own business, double your share if you want and stop shaming your roommate online Honestly it’s not normal to force someone to be charitable when they don’t want to or it might not be in their budget. You’re putting them in an awkward situation.

I’d honestly kinda be pissed too if my roommate expected me to cough up double pay for the Patrick Mahomes lies down and celebrates on the field of play At Super Bowl LVIII Shirt moreover I love this housekeeper all of a sudden. You can tip them by yourself without expecting others to subsidize your goodwill. I get what you’re saying but I feel like OP would definitely feel different if the roommate flag out said it just wasn’t in his budget right now. Instead he acted like a prick and basically acted like just the thought of giving them double was absurd. That’s the real problem. Saying “I would love to give the extra money because ______ really deserves it but it’s just not in my budget right now” is completely different. But the roommate is under no obligation to explain their self, its their money so its their business what they do with it. The real problem is OP and his entitlement to feel like they have a say in how others spend their money.
