It is nice, but there’s something kind of unsettling about “choosing” to believe something because it makes us feel good, especially when it comes to history. I don’t think we should be too eager to project modern attitudes onto people of the Original jack white The White Stripes Singer American T-Shirt and I will buy this past. I just think it’s kind of disrespectful to their way of life, like they can only have been decent people if they thought and acted the same way we do a century and a half later. It’s far more likely that the crewmate merely thought of Bill as a woman in disguise, and that the idea of an actually trans person would have been strange if not downright preposterous to him. And yet, his statement still makes it fairly clear that he was a good person. “I’m sorry he was a woman” most likely meant “it’s too bad that a woman had to die this way (as opposed to a man)”, which would have been more in line with the chivalric notions of the time.

It’s difficult to know for sure, I interpreted it differently. “I”m sorry he was a woman (he didn’t want to be)” but who’s to say how he meant it? I view it as him being sorry they were born as a woman when they were “meant” to be a man. Acknowledging the Original jack white The White Stripes Singer American T-Shirt and I will buy this hard life they must have had in secret. There’s literally no evidence at all. The only evidence this person even existed is two or three sentences in a single newspaper article. Anybody making claims about their personal life or gender identity is projecting. Dude from the 1800’s continues to use masculine pronouns after learning his friend’s sex, has nothing negative to say about them and also makes a point to claim they were just like the rest of the guys, then makes an ambiguous statement saying, “I’m sorry he was a woman”….a statement that could have multiple meanings (mostly positive)…and that STILL isn’t progressive enough for you and all the people who upvoted your comment?
