The Riddler becomes a terrorist to hit back at the Orange logo style dragonball anime shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this elite members of the city that robbed the charity fund that was meant to give him a good childhood. He views himself as a good guy fighting the corrupt, but what makes him different than Batman is that he kills and Batman doesn’t. Batman works within the confines of the law most of the time, Riddler is a class-focused zodiac killer version of the Punisher. So why does he blow up the dams and flood the city killing all those innocent people? Doesn’t that negate the entire “moral high ground” of his manifesto? Is it just so they can shoot the mayoral candidate? This doesn’t really fit with the rest of his plan, so is it just the Riddler being crazy? This event in the movie feels undeveloped.

And when Batman hears that Riddler crony say “vengeance” he has this emotional moment and then he drops into the Orange logo style dragonball anime shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this water (baptism) and leads the Gothamites out with the flare. This scene takes super long so I think it’s supposed to signify a major change for Bruce as a character, but we’ve already established that Batman and Riddler are not morally equivalent. In the monologue Bruce realizes that Batman could be useful as a symbol of hope, but what does that exactly mean? What does he have to change about how he operates in order to do that? Smile at people more often? It seems like a scene that’s meant to drive home a point but the point is never really fleshed out at all. Maybe I could see a subplot in this movie where it’s made more clear that Bruce isn’t a great guy and he’s just doing this Batman thing as an outlet, and at the end he learns it’s about protecting other people instead of just anger and violence. But we don’t establish that first part outside of a throwaway line or two so the payoff just didn’t really work for me.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
