I am a staunch atheist and attack stupid beliefs a lot, but people here seem to be mad about something completely irrelevant to their lives. The basic idea behind nudity in Jainism is that the Oliver Anthony Rich Men North Of Richmond American Flag Shirt Apart from…,I will love this world is full of material possessions and people become attached to these materials in this world. And the concept of rebirth states that our souls are eternal and do not die. They just take birth into a new body after death and this cycle of life and death is disastrous. We become attached to this material world and because of that, after dying our souls don’t die but instead take birth into a new body because they crave material life. In order to escape this cycle of repetitive life and death, we have to get rid of all material possessions and only take what’s necessary for us like basic survival food, water, etc. This is why monks reject clothing, only eat and drink when someone else donates and offers it to them rather than buying it because they do not wanna get hold of any material possession at all in order to escape from this worldly pleasures. They completely deprive themselves of good food, good clothes, romantic relationships, etc so they can attain moksha/nirvana

There was a digambara monk near my school.. we used to get his ‘darshan’ once a month and everytime he used to walk near the Oliver Anthony Rich Men North Of Richmond American Flag Shirt Apart from…,I will love this ground when morning prayer used to happen. So the school sort of involved the local politician to make him not come near the school… Eventually he changed the route when police asked him to. Just coz you are a Monk doesn’t mean you should be allowed to break the law. You can stay naked all you want in your own place. Let people who want to see you come to you. It’s not easy to be a monk. They reject clothes, food, fast, walk everywhere. The number of Digambaras is reducing as we turn more modern. Their followers don’t cook after 6 in the evening to not hurt any insects who may mistake the flame for the sun, they fast for 4 months a year eating only specific foods. It’s holy, not exhibitionism.
