They did this to my boss too – called her a lead when she was managing our department. Didn’t give her any credit for years. Learn, and once you’ve grown into the Ohio Bobcats 2023 Bowl Bound Bow Season Logo shirt Besides,I will do this role you can go back to them about the money. If it’s still off the table then hey, you’ve just got a whole lot of experience at a much more senior level and should have little trouble getting the money elsewhere. Phrased differently, I don’t think the money’s ever coming. But opportunities to truly get promoted to a different level in one step are very rare because most are willing to offer you just a little more responsibility than you had in your previous role. This company is shortchanging you on money, but they’re offering you the experience that will allow you to get a senior role elsewhere. Get it all in writing and ask them for real benchmarks instead of them being vague like “once we’re comfortable…”. They could very easily keep saying that for years and not pay you fairly.

I am going through the Ohio Bobcats 2023 Bowl Bound Bow Season Logo shirt Besides,I will do this same situation at work. I’ve taken the “lead” role and requested a every three month formal review. This way I can be coached if needed as well as review what other steps I need to take to get to the next level. I needed to add I did negotiate a 22% pay raise for the lead position. Same thing, get rid of my boss, decide I can report to some other random director in some unrelated department. This means that even if you don’t take on additional responsibility formally, you have nobody to escalate to since your new supervisor doesn’t know enough about your job to help. You will have extra responsibility and stress because you’re now the end of the line. I tried pointing out that they freed up some money firing my boss and that I was only asking for a small part of what was saved. Didn’t work for me, but maybe you can use that in your negotiating. Also, dust off your resume, get references lined up and at least window shop for jobs. You don’t know which way things will go for you and it’s best to be ready for all outcomes.
