My mum’s house was from the Official jeff Dunham Arkansas Razorbacks Haters Silence! I Keel You shirt and by the same token and 70s so it has a serving hatch that still gets used every day. It also had a garish brown sliding door screen to separate the living and dining rooms. It was ripped down in the 90s lol Yea grew up in a house with a serving hatch. Think it was built in the 70s or 80s. Parents filled it in though as it looked dated by late 90s. We had one between the kitchen and the dining room. We only ate in the dining room on special occasions, such as Christmas, so it was only used then. But it was a lot easier passing the food and dishes through there than walking round. I used to have on in my old terrace, but it was boarded up with we decided to redo the kitchen. Kept it open on the dining room side as an alcove thing.

She told me she saw there was a serving hatch in the Official jeff Dunham Arkansas Razorbacks Haters Silence! I Keel You shirt and by the same token and brickwork but walked past one day and saw it’d been filled in, and was really annoyed and upset as she was really looking forward to it! When we were looking for a place, I had my heart set on a house that was… bold design choices. Lots of wood panelling. Frilly looking wall sconces. Kitchen was the size of a downstairs loo: sink, cooker and wall hatch behind the door. We did not get that house. I am still bitter about it years later, even MORE bitter because the people who did get it moved on two years later. I know this because we ended up getting a house further down the same street. Still stuck in the 70s but no wall hatch which was… disappointing. they probably bricked it in. i like the 70s features i grew up with, so many houses i look at are whitewashed these days and sterile.
