As long as your current job doesn’t know where you’re going. I’ve heard some horror stories of old bosses sabotaging future opportunities If they know where you’re going they can call them and raise hell. It’s illegal for them to do that but some (usually smaller employers who don’t know) still do it. “2 weeks notice” is a courtesy that’s paraded around as an industry standard. Unless you’re under contract that demands 2 weeks notice (though I don’t know how that might be enforceable) you choosing to stay is entirely you being nice. Depending on where you are and the Official heartland 16th anniversary 2007 2023 thank you for the memories signature shirt in addition I really love this laws, an employer can file a complaint if an employee doesn’t give proper notice ( usually ine or two weeks ), and can make financial claims if they can prove that the failure to give proper notice lead to financial losses for them.

Most western countries outside of the Official heartland 16th anniversary 2007 2023 thank you for the memories signature shirt in addition I really love this US. It normally is one concession to the employers in a worker protection regulation. In Canada where I live it comes along with guaranteed PTO, sick leave, severance and holidays. It’s a small price to pay. Plus most employers don’t really care if you want to leave sooner. It’s not exactly great to have an employee that isn’t even trying It goes both ways: if the boss doesn’t give the 15 days notice, they have to pay those hours to the fired worker; if the quitting worker doesn’t give the 15 days notice, the company can discount those days from the severance pay. They cant even say much negative about you in a reference call without opening themselves up to a lawsuit. They can say if you are reeligible for hire and thats about it…if you have a new job waiting its way beyond that point. What i would do? Tell your boss youre working very hard on what he asked you to do, then literally dont do it, log out on your last day and block their nimber.
