Wait these are endangered? When I dug some of my garden up and got rid of a old rotten tree log I had like 15 of these chilling in my garden in both spots. Was as close as I’ve ever come to being assassinated, hurt like shit One of my fondest memories from my childhood is my dad teaching me how they’re harmless and I remember even picking them up. I’ve not seen one irl since Shame. They’re harmless and quite incredible. Even if you’re not a fan, what’s happening to insect populations is something that should concern you

I’m from New Zealand, and the Official everybody has an addiction mine just happen Lanie Gardner vintage shirt Furthermore, I will do this lack of insects since I moved to the UK has been quite jarring. I’m guessing since most of the country is used for growing veggies, a lot of pesticides are used. Not 100% but I believe so. Used to be you couldn’t drive through the countryside without having to blast insects off the windscreen after an hour. Now, nothing. Not good It’s the massive agricultural use of pesticides that’s the biggest problem but yes people should use natural forms instead. It’s actually one of the very few things I’ve got on my bucket list, seeing a Stag Beetle IRL. Beautiful beasties. FYI the only other thing currently on the list is getting a hot dog from the man with the cart in Morrison’s car park. I either never have cash when I’m there, or I’m in a hurry, or I’ve just eaten beforehand etc. One day, the stars will align. They are awesome! I had a small rhino beetle in the garden last week but no where near the size of that monster! Crikey! That’s big. Never seen one. I hope I don’t to be honest – insects creep me out big time. A photo will suffice. Good shots! I gave it my finger and it clung onto my finger and stayed there for about 10 minutes and then I put it onto trees branch .
