When I worked nights I just got paid by the Offensive I Need Head (Hugs, Encouragement, Affection, Devotion) T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this hour not by the time. So I was clocked in for 9hrs not from 8pm-4am if that makes sense If you’re a medical resident in the US, you just work the extra hour. No extra pay, of course, because that’s not a thing in residency. It’s salaried. Usually work the extra hour, but it’s also usually paid as double-time or overtime. So can be decent sometimes. In the hospitals I worked at, you get paid for a regular shift. Planning always tried to make sure the same people get the shift in the spring that’s an hour shorter, because that’s also paid as a regular shift. Worked at Walmart for a few years and they tried to convince us that we didn’t work an extra hour EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I know how time works lol just because I had a shitty retail job doesn’t mean I can’t count. I know the managers were told to do this because it was the only night of the year they made us fill out our hours worked on a paper time sheet instead of using the time clock. I have never shopped at Walmart since I quit. I hate that place. Went through this many times while I was in the Navy, not from Daylight Savings, but from crossing into different time zones. Those on watch at that time either were on watch an extra hour or got off an hour sooner (total time, not time on the clock).

My partner’s a night vet, he doesn’t get paid the Offensive I Need Head (Hugs, Encouragement, Affection, Devotion) T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this extra hour, but nor is he docked an hour when the clocks go forward. A while back I worked for the transit company working the sunset shift (8:30 pm to 5:00 am). During both time periods, the pay and the clock in and out time was the same. In the Spring, you work one hour less, and in the Fall/Winter, you work one hour more. Management was very understanding, and most employees left around 4:00 to 4:30 am when the clock did go back, as most if not all the work was completed. If you’re on a straight time shift, we get an hour OT for the extra hour we spend.. I was on OT Sunday night, and I got 13 hrs OT .. sweet deal When I worked night shift for a city I got paid both ways. In the fall I got paid an hour of overtime and worked 9 hours. In the spring I worked 7 hours but got paid for 8 hours. I was on a 24 hr shift a few years back. I worked 25 hrs. I did not get paid extra. Yes this was normal (medical residency, we’re salaried for what works out to peanuts/hr). I work an extra hour, I tried asking if I get paid for that hour but no one knows and I keep forgetting to check my paystubs. I’ll check next Friday when I’m paid When I worked at a bar that closed at 3AM, the computer did not account for the extra hour. I didn’t really care because at the time my hourly rate was basically nothing.
