I’ll just say that knowing both cities well, I felt much safer in Manhattan than central london. Part of this was that there were more people around at any time of the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Artwork shirt in contrast I will get this day. Manhattan pre-Covid also had an excellent safety record (I think London may have over taken it in terms of crime rate before Covid , but I need to fact check that) . As for friendliness, New Yorkers are busy and dislike clueless tourists that just pay no attention to others trying to get past them on the pavement. London is the same tbh. New Yorkers are pretty friendly and chatty , though who knows perhaps that’s because I had an English accent. I also found Londoners to walk faster than New Yorkers. New Yorkers seemed pretty slow in comparison to my London march perfected through years of navigating London Bridge at rush hour. As for tranquility… Manhattan gets calmer the closer you get to the water. So I suggested starting off near the Staten Island ferry port and walking westwards up the edge of Manhattan. Pretty relaxed there. Then you have Central Park but you need you start off or walk to the mid point to shake off all the tourists.

Good observation, sherlock. So basically, you’re telling us that london is more stretched out? Maybe that has something to do with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Artwork shirt in contrast I will get this fact that they have roughly the same population, but london is twice the size. I think I’d say the main difference is size. London is huge, but New York is enormous. London’s urban area is around 10 million people, New York’s is around 20 million. I don’t think comparing London travel zones to areas of New York is that insightful, because the geographies of the two cities are so different. OP is not talking about the state of New York, they are referring to NYC. Comparing city to city. Populations are not far off, London: 9.5 million vs. New York’s 8.1 million. Geographically London is twice the size of New York City.
