I really like the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Local Phrase shirt and I will buy this Village in NYC (around Jane St etc). I could walk anywhere on my trips there. Always stayed in the same apartment and it felt like Sex&The City. Since Covid started, I’ve only been there once. Friends live in Hoboken and Weboken, rent like 3500 a month was a steal (1-bed in Weboken, on a 50% discount during Covid). The minute Covid was over, they increased rent by 20% from full price but obviously they could afford it so they stayed. The thing is, everyone I know doesn’t really hang out in Central Manhattan – too much risk of being exposed to crime or other horrible things. It’s different when you’re in finance and live in your own bubble on Upper East Side, or were born into money and enjoy yourself near Riverside Park. That’s a different bubble. To me NYC in a bit tiring and a bit too much. I’d prefer San Francisco in that regard. But knowing how the US has changed during Covid, I don’t want to live there at all (and I can move there, like, tomorrow and be all set from day 1 due to part of my family being there)

All salient points but you forgot the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Local Phrase shirt and I will buy this most important pro: London has better Pizza than New York. We have actual Italians making Italian pizza in London. Why else would Stanley Tucci live in London and not New York? I haven’t lived in either place, but I’ve been to NYC on a vacation and London on a graduation trip. NYC gives me MAJOR anxiety. In London I felt peaceful (and I stayed in Zone 1). I don’t know, but I think I felt safer in London than I did in NYC. I wasn’t worried at all about having gone shopping and walking around with lots of bags in London. In NYC it felt so much more crowded and I felt like I needed to hold my bag close (which is crazy because I’ve never felt that about anywhere I’ve traveled to). When I was in London, the people I came across either left you alone or were super nice. In NYC a man came up behind me yelling F*CK YOU like 3 times (my mom was about to go Mama Bear on him. Lol) and I thought I was going to die in the cab or two I took. London was also cleaner. I do love the theatre and musicals so I would love to see more on Broadway, but I dread having to go to NYC to do that. So if you, having lived there, or anyone, has any lovely thoughts or tips on NYC I’d love to hear them.
