I’m a culturally Christian atheist that celebrates Christmas because my equally atheist family (or at least that I know) does and always has. It is 100% secular for It’s not what Christmas tree that matters it’s who’s around it shirt and we do not even breathe a word about God or Jesus. It’s about the family time, the food, and the presents. I doubt my youngest brother (5) even knows its connection to any religion or what religion even is. I’m not Christian, and growing up I still had to participate in Christmas because not exchanging gifts would make me selfish.

I misread your comment so I thought you said your kids were pathetic but still get Christmas presents. Just a funny little slip up on my end I thought you would get a chuckle out of. I don’t think the bible says that those of faith have to give gifts to celebrate the birth of It’s not what Christmas tree that matters it’s who’s around it shirt. That’s just a concept she’s decided to adopt (as have millions of people around the world). Faith doesn’t require the giving of gifts so the argument just makes zero sense to me.
