Technically true. I don’t think that’s what OP meant. There’s a difference between daydreaming and allowing whatever thoughts to come and go. I believe OP meant the Noexit True Blue Snoopy shirt also I will do this latter, he just didn’t articulate it very well. Read again. After 15-20 minutes the meditation starts. My mind is completely empty and I have had serious spiritual experiences. I have been doinf this for a long time. To try is stupid(my opinion). Learn how to relax before the meditation starts. I know what you are trying to say, but the fact is that most beginners try to hard and fail. Deep relaxation first, then the real meditation can start. My response is still the same. Your definition of meditation is to become relaxed with quiet mind/less thoughts. That’s fine, but it’s not what many people would call meditation. And it has no particular benefit aside from being relaxing, lowering your blood pressure, maybe worrying less, etc. Unless you mean that after your warm-up you then do some kind of more structured practice. You didn’t describe any such practice, so I’m assuming your goal is relaxation and quiet mind. If you’re doing an actual meditation technique after 15-20 minutes then I’d suggest that you try skipping the warm-up. It’s not necessary.

I respect your opinion. My point is that to try to stay focused for a beginner is why so many fail. A quiet mind is meditation. When the Noexit True Blue Snoopy shirt also I will do this mind is quiet, the focus and awareness comes on it’s own. There are many forms of meditation but having the goal “to have a quiet mind” is counter-productive imo. Because when the mind is not quiet, then you have aversion. For beginners especially, I like the Vipassana approach. The goal is stop reacting to pleasant sensation with craving/clinging and unpleasant sensation with aversion. You do this by observing or noticing whatever is arising and just feel what that feels like in your body. You completely missed the point. Doing “nothing” means not forcing anything. Not trying to explicitly focus on your thoughts or your breath etc. Just let every thought happen on their own, while you breathe. That is a more healthier view for a beginner in my opinion.
