I really assumed this was a serious cooking show and I don’t even know why…I should’ve known better The actual food and cooking isn’t the Nice i’m A Concrete Finisher I Don’t Stop When I’m Tired I Stop When I’m Done shirt But I will love this main draw and it’s a whole hour of drag queens being goofy and fun so I’d watch it again. Also a general observation, but does it seem that the LGBTQ+ programming on Hulu is more-and I mean this very lovingly and positively-flaming? I’m really glad that it isn’t just queens from drag race and even dragula. I’m also very happy that Murray is the host! The show’s fun, but could definitely be executed better. It is really cool to have another show centered around drag, but I think there’s still a learning curve when it comes to portraying drag on tv. As a retired TV junkie I’ve watched all 10 episodes now. It was chaotic, absurdist improv comedy challenge from Drag Race meets the design a bar/hotel room challenge of establishing a vibe and characters. It was funny enough I laughed out loud several times and will be rewatching the series because it was so fast paced that I know I missed things.

Is there something wrong with my sound system or is the Nice i’m A Concrete Finisher I Don’t Stop When I’m Tired I Stop When I’m Done shirt But I will love this music mixed suuuper low? Like the theme song sounded like it was in a different room. Why’s it always gotta be a damn competition? I’d love to just see queens throwing dinner parties for a diverse array of guests and see what the conversation becomes. After one episode: I wish it was more clear what was set by producers, what the queens were allowed to prepare beforehand, and what was off-the-cuff or improv. It all blends uncomfortably as too performative due to editing and I’m assuming direction. I think if the edit was more forward with what was “scripted” aka available, pre-determined, pre-written dialogue/bits, vs. improv (what I assume is DEALING with the challenge requirements AKA menu, and the actual outcome vs. pretending this is all the teams’ idea come up with on the spot) then so many jokes would land better as intended. Instead it comes off as trying to be campy while also being over-produced and also being cheap.
