But once I became open to contracting it was much easier and the process was even shorter (interviewing wise). Most recruiting agencies even provide benefits, the rates are also higher in general from my experience. Things are hard but if your one to contract (mine is contract to hire) more doors open up I recently got a job at a startup I am very excited about after losing my job earlier this yr after the startup I worked at lost funding and dissolved.

It was a tough job search though. The exact same situation happened when hunting for my first job. Funny how that works.
