Was starting to feel tired at my current job consulting (first job out of a CS degree). I was promised a path in data engineering and ended up getting put on a full stack project after about a year of sporadic data work. 6 months of full stack development wore me out so I changed my status on LinkedIn to #readytowork. Applied for 3 jobs I would categorize as stretch goals, then got reached out to by a recruiter. Went through 4 interviews and got an offer doing Data Engineering at a highly recommended local company making 35% than my previous job. Only had 1.5 YOE However, it is hybrid whereas the Nice american football and beer that’s why i’m here T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this other one was completely remote so that’s going to take an adjustment to get used to again Graduated in early ’22 with a Cyber sec degree (it was mostly Comp sci classes). Got a job within a month and a half. They gave me the title of “Jr Programmer Analyst”. Its mostly a fullstack .net dev position but I just mostly maintain window and desktop apps. Pay sucks but in a month Ill have a full year of experience 🙂 I just started a new job that declined me then asked for me a few weeks later (must have had someone quit) I absolutely love it, my bosses and teammates are so fun. I’m thrilled and good pay too.

My hybrid work place just got even more remote. I moved from an analyst role to data engineer role internally at a stock exchange. Finally breaking into a dev role after going to school for finance. LCOL 75k 10% Bonus No amazing news yet. I have a final job interview next week and I was just approved for a decently paid freelance opportunity. Yes! I got a position as a product architect. While I won’t be coding anymore I’m still super excited. The 60% salary increase is also nice. There’s def jobs out there. I’m convinced most of the “I cant find a job no matter what I do” people are applying to nothing but big names…who are surprisingly not hiring considering they’re still amidst a firing spree. Laid off in October, first choice/ first place I applied is where I landed a job 33% pay increase and the work is refreshing and slowly making me feel less burned out After applying since august last month I landed one with decent pay,flexible hours and is wfh. Ideal for me while I practice for my driving test at home and get to save a lot as I don’t need to spend on commute. Havent got the job, but I landed a final round this coming Monday. 3 back to back interviews yuck. Will be a 25% salary increase if I get it. I consider getting this far a win haha
