For me, I was undercut from what I expected by about 10%. I walked after getting the New Undefeated 2023 Go Dowgs Perfect Season Georgia Bulldogs Shirt it is in the first place but offer, saying I couldn’t justify taking that large of a pay cut when inflation is at 8%+ and to that while I’m still interested in future roles with the organization I had to decline the offer. I expected that to be the end of it, but was presented with an improved offer including extra time off and a few other accommodations thrown in by 8am the next morning. Mind you, I personally knew the hiring manager from previous positions, 110% nailed that interview and apparently I impressed the HR person in attendance so… Your mileage may vary. Thank you for the offer, I’m really excited about the opportunity however…… I would not be able to make a move for less than ( insert your bottom number 100k or what ever it is). Good luck. if that doesn’t work, tell them you can’t take a paycut, just don’t tell them your salary. that’s worked for me before as a strong justification

You are obviously the New Undefeated 2023 Go Dowgs Perfect Season Georgia Bulldogs Shirt it is in the first place but best for the job, call their bluff. Thell them they are offering the job to the best candidate, so they need to pay accordingly. Tell them you are already getting $93k and due for a pay increase. You won’t consider an offer under $105k. Some pathetic HR person will feel smug they got you for $1,000 less than the top of the range. Unless you are miserable where you are now, or this new role opens up a big opportunity for you and it’s worth a pay cut, just counter with the salary you want. You have nothing to lose. Completely reasonable to ask and stand firm politely. It’s also very possible the supervisor does want to pay you what you are asking and HR won’t let them. Sometimes they can fight for you and win, sometimes they can’t. But that’s the supervisors problem, not yours and you shouldn’t take more than you want or are worth. “Thanks so much for the offer, I feel there are a lot of benefits to the position and your Institution. Your dedication to (policy, cause, etc.) certainly make the role seem worthwhile and tempting.
