Personally, I stay in the left lane because I’m a fast driver (about 10 over) and I don’t want to be behind anyone going slower. It just makes more sense to me to stay in one fast lane, rather than having to pass slower drivers every 30 seconds. Plus, I feel that if I’m going faster, then I’m not holding anyone up behind me. If the posted speed limit is 70mph, and I am doing 85mph in the left, and you come up behind and tailgate me….you eat a soggy bag of dks. I was on a two lane one direct stretch of highway exceeding the speed, not another vehicle near. Then some smug ahole appeared behind me – we were the only two vehicles for miles yet this selfrighteous prat tailgated me and waved out his window for me to get out of the left lane. What I find so comically about those that worship the sacredness of the left lane (“bEcaUsE iT’S tHe LAw”) have no issue with exceeding the speed limit by 15 to 20mph.
