Plus like, everyone around you already has a pretty good idea of what your body looks like. It’s not some big secret as though your “skinny” outfit has tricked everyone into thinking you’re a supermodel. Yeah I also really like that, and I’ve loved exploring that second dimension. After a while buying stuff that works with your body type and trying 100 different styles intended to make you look a bit thinner than you are gets a bit old. I bought a red poofy velvet dress a while back and my exact thought was “that’s so ugly it kinda looks good”. You can see me from about two miles away and I look like a giant pom pom. It’s great. I also think that “thin” clothes have the Never underestimate a woman who works at Sonic America’s drive in Stitch shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this unintended effect of making you feel bad about yourself and treat your body poorly as a result. When you wear creative outfits that aren’t even meant to make you look skinny you get more comfortable, and counterintuitively that confidence makes it easier to eat healthy and have some self-respect, thus making the skinny clothes look better. I went from being a very emo teenager with rock band tees and black skinny jeans to pastel pink hair and straight jeans with flower embroidery and cute dresses (mid 20s)

I’ve found myself gravitating more towards monochromatic, neutral or subdued colors (which are what suits my complexion best anyways), sleeker lines, less trendy pieces in general. I guess getting older has made me realize I don’t want to dress like a teenager/ya because I like being older and want to dress in a way that reflects that? Sounds strange, but I don’t understand when a person says “you need to dress young(er) so you don’t look your age”, and what’s wrong with that exactly? I love being “old”! I want to look exactly my age, and depending on the Never underestimate a woman who works at Sonic America’s drive in Stitch shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this mood, sometimes I want to look younger, some other times I want to look older and embrace my inner granma lol I get this and now I’m feeling the urge to do the opposite.? I’m 47 and I feel like I’m ready to stop being serious about adulthood because I’ve done that long enough. Now I’m starting buy colors and feminine clothes, which I haven’t done since I was about 11. Hopefully I won’t go off the edge and look like a sad, poorly aging woman, but I also don’t care that much if I do, lol. To hell with that – when I’m 80, 47 will look like 20 does to me now.
